This web site is named as it is for two reasons.

A play on the words ask-a-guide, where in the spirit of web logs or blogs, it provides a place for gettting help (from someone who has the experience).
It is also named after a place nestled in the Southern Appalachian hills or as we like to call it, the "Historic High Country" of Fannin county in the State of Georgia (United States of America). This place, "Aska" was once a small rural post office, not quite a town in the Northern Georgia part of old Appalachia, is now designated with brown road signage the "Aska Adventure Area".

We dedicate this site to the art and beauty inspired by the uniqueness of the Southern Appalachian region of the United States of America.

Blog here to record, or discuss an adventure, folk art exhibit, interesting bird sighting, a memorable hike, bike ride, canoe or kayak expedition, fly fishing story, or simply ~ Ask a Guide. (407 Guides so far).

Webmaster Becomes a Poppop

On December 27, 2007, the webmaster has become a Grandfather. Yes, Virginia, some Poppop's can also program web sites using HTML and PHP5.
